Vipers and NEC FC who are Uganda’s representatives in the CAF Champions league and Confederation Cup are expected to pocket Shs360M each from CAF.
CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe confirmed the development during a press conference on Saturday in Rabat, Morocco.
He confirmed the doubling of the package for clubs that will compete in the 2025/26 CAF Champions league and CAF Confederation Cup respectively from 50.000 dollars to 100,000 US dollars.
The CAF boss asserted that the move is ease the financial strain on team travelling and competing across the African continent.
Should Vipers SC qualify for the CAF Champions League group stage, they will earn up to USD 700,000. KCCA FC and Vipers are the only two Ugandan sides to have made it to the group stages of the CaF Champions league.
Meanwhile, NEC who finished second on the Uganda Premier will feature in CAF Confederation Cup following Vipers’ double triumph last season.
