The 2025 Buganda Masaza Cup tournament resumed over the weekend with match-day three across the three groups played at various playgrounds.
Record competition winners Gomba suffered a third straight defeat with a 2-1 loss at Busujju in their Bulange Group game on Sunday at Kakindu.
John Kisekka and Lauben Lubwama scored the two goals for Busujju while Joseph Ssewaali netted Gomba’s first goal of the campaign but could only turn into a consolation.
Gomba had previously lost to Buddu and Ssese in their opening two games both ending in a 1-0 defeats.
Reports indicate that coach Simon Ddungu alias Dunga has stepped down from his role with seven group games remaining.
In the same group, holders Buddu needed a late Joseph Kayondo strike to claim three points over Ssese at Kitovu Sports Arena on Sunday.

Busiro recorded their first win of the campaign with a narrow 1-0 win over Buluuli at Sentama. Michael Jinta scored the all important goal.
In Masengere group, Mawokota thrashed Buvuma 3-0 thanks to goals from twin brothers George Isingoma and George Kato. Abdul Razak Takuba was also on the score sheet.
Still in the same group, Buweekula earned their maiden win of this term with a 3-0 humbling of three time winners Bulemeezi at Mubende PTC playgrounds.
Jimmy Kalema scored a brace before Jonathan Luyonde added the other.
Bulemeezi finished with a man less after Oyirwoth Steven was sent off.
On Saturday, Kyaddondo and Bugerere shared spoils in a 1-1 draw at Nakivubo Stadium.
Kyaggwe powered 2-0 past Mawogola at Mawogola playgrounds in the Muganzirwazza group contest with David Mugalu and Marvin Busulwa scoring the two goals for Simon Mugerwa’s visitors.
Butambala and Ssingo played out to a goalless stalemate in the other Muganzirwazza group game on Saturday. Ssingo are still winless this term with three draws.
