Gomba have appointed Nasibu Mukasa as their new head after the departure of Simon Ddungu alias Dunga.

Mukasa last year also served as Gomba head coach when he replaced Frank Mulindwa but couldn’t guide the five time Masaza Cup winners past the group stage.

Ddungu lost all the three games he was in charge of Gomba in the Bulange group, losing to Buddu, Ssese and most recently to Busujju.

He will work with Simon Ggita who had been earlier appointed as interim coach, Rajab Ntambi, Ssuubi William and Bbaale David.

Mukasa’s first game in charge of Gomba Lions will be at home against stubborn Buluuli on Sunday at Kabulasoke Playground.

They are currently rock bottom of Bulange Group with zero points, that has Buddu and Busujju who are both on seven points.

Gomba has previously won the prestigious Buganda Kingdom organized football event five times in 2004, 2009, 2014, 2017 and 2020.
