Former Uganda Cranes goalkeeper Sam Kawalya has joined SC Villa as their goalkeeping Coach, Swift Sports Uganda understands.
This website has established that Kawalya replaces Yusuf Ssenyonjo who was sacked by the club.
Kawalya joins SC Villa’s coaching staff led by Serbian coach Zeljko Kovacevic who replaced Morley Byekwaso.
Ssenyonjo has served as the goalkeeping coach at the record Uganda Premier league champions for two years. He replaced Robert Mukasa alias Kiyenje.
Kawalya comes with a lot of experience having previously served at Express, Mbarara City, Tooro United, Gaddafi FC and Rayon Sports among others.
SC Villa is expected to boost their goalkeeping department in this transfer window following a disastrous campaign for goalkeepers Jeans Wokorach and Norman Angufindru while Meddie Kibirige is expected to leave the club.
The Jogoos finished sixth last season on the Uganda Premier league log last term with 45 points, 24 points adrift of league winners Vipers SC.
