Out of contract Mbale Heroes duo Andrew Kawooya “Sergeant” and Davis Ssekajja has failed to impress new SC Villa head Zeljko Kovacevic at the club trials.
Swift Sports Uganda understands that the pair were told not to return for the trials being held by the record Uganda Premier league champions.
Kawooya and Ssekajja joined Mbale Heroes from Express FC and UPDF FC respectively on a one year employment contract each at the start of last season.
Kawooya is a former player of KCCA FC, UPDF FC and MYDA FC who rose to limelight with the Vipers Junior Team and St. Mary’s Kitende.
He was part of the Cubs team that represented Uganda at the U17 AFCON in 2018 as well as the Hippos Team at the U20 AFCON tournament in 2021.
Meanwhile, Ssekajja has previously featured for SC Villa before he joined UPDF FC and later Mbale Heroes FC.
