Enock Walusimbi set to join another UPL side

Former URA FC captain Enock Walusimbi is closing in on a move to KCCA FC, Swift Sports Uganda can reliably confirm.

In the early morning hours of Wednesday, Walusimbi along with Prosper Agency Sporting director Kasirye Hakim at KCCA FC offices to finalize a deal with the club.

Kasirye is known for dealing in several local transfers and has helped players from the Buganda Masaza Cup get top-flight deals.

Walusimbi also has offers outside the contract but is now close to a move to Lugogo.

Walusimbi is a free agent having parted with URA FC last month following the expiration of his contract and efforts of a renewal have emerged futile.

Walusimbi joined the Tax Collectors in 2023 as a free agent following a brief stint in Scotland with Peterhead FC.

He assumed the club’s captain’s armband in October 2023 proceeding Alionzi Nafian who left the club to join Ethiopia’s Mechal SC.

At URA, he played a total of 50 League games, scoring twice and assisting twice.

Walusimbi has previously played for Soltilo Bright and Express FC and notably captained The Red Eagles to their 7th league title in 2021.

KCCA FC have already completed the signing of Ivan Ahimbisibwe also scooped from URA FC, Herbert Achayi and Lazaro Bwambale.
