Vipers are confident of signing KCCA FC forward Usama Arafat Kizza in time, Swift Sports Uganda understands.

Usama is currently out of contract at KCCA FC and the Venoms plan to sign the winger before they head to Zanzibar for their CECAFA Kagame Cup.

Swift Sports understands there is a cautious optimism at Kitende that a deal can be struck and discussions continue internally over the next steps.

This website has also established that the Uganda Premier League champions have tabled a juicy offer for Usama to have a deal over the line ahead of their busy 2025/26 schedule.

KCCA FC also want Usama to extend his employment contract for another two years but they will have to better Vipers’ offer.

There were reports of interest from South African clubs TS Galaxy and Durban City.

It should be noted that Usama is a former St Mary’s Secondary School Kitende student the feeder of Vipers SC senior team and has previously featured for Buganda regional side Kajjansi United, Mbale Tigers and CRO.

He joined KCCA FC at the start of the 2021/22 season on a three year employment contract from Kajjansi United.

Usama was part of the Uganda Cranes CHAN team that reached the quarterfinals before their painful exit to Senegal over the weekend. He however had limited playing time on the team, coming on as a late substitute in all his appearances at the tournament in East Africa.
