The Uganda Premier League (UPL) secretariat has released the first-round fixture for the 2025/26 season which will be played in the new format.
However concerns regarding the new format remain among a section of Uganda Premier League clubs.
Clubs such as SC Villa, Vipers SC and KCCA FC have protested over the new league format.
The 2025/26 campaign is slated to kick off on Friday, September 26, with the first round running until Saturday, February 14, 2026.
According to the released fixtures there will also be double-headers on the opening weekend with two games will be hosted at the same stadium.
On Friday, 26th September, URA FC will entertain KCCA FC at Hamz Stadium while Express will host Kitara FC on the same day at the same venue.
The following day, Mbarara City will lock horns with Lugazi FC while new comers Calvary will battle with UPDF FC.
SC Villa will kickoff their campaign against BUL FC on the same day while Buhimba United Saints are to host Maroons FC.
Police FC will face off with Entebbe UPPC FC in the other game on 27th September, 2025.

Reigning champions Vipers SC who were to host NEC FC on the opening weekend their game will have a new date due to their engagement in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup respectively.
