Buganda rescued a late point during a captivating encounter against Ankole during their first leg of the Group stage at Najjembe on Saturday.
The two sides played out to a memorable draw on an intriguing afternoon in the FUFA Drum Group B contest.
Mungudit Freedom’s stoppage-time leveller rescued a point for Buganda in a scintillating encounter with Ankole.
The visitors Ankole thought they had maximized points with Ivan Ahimbisibwe, Seiri Arigumaho and Charles Bbaale scoring their three goals.
Ankole were moments away from the win but Mungudit late equaliser spoilt their party.
Ronald Ssempala and Viane Ssekajugo netted the other goals for Buganda.
Buganda, Ankole are in Group B alongside reigning champions Lango Province.
Meanwhile, Acholi Province smiled to maximum points away to Bugisu in the other game played on Saturday at Mbale Stadium.

Brown Ochan scored the all important goal in the 14th minute to send Acholi into delight. Acholi are Group A along with Bugisu and West Nile.

Since its inception, the FUFA Drum has crowned multiple champions, with Buganda claiming the maiden edition, followed by Acholi and West Nile, before Lango’s triumph last year.
