No Usama as Vipers reveal travelling squad for CAF Champions League tie against African Stars FC

Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have confirmed the travelling squad for their first CAF Champions League preliminary round trip to Cape Town.

The Venoms will face Namibia’s African Stars in their first leg of the Preliminary round on Friday at the Athlone Stadium.

Last season’s league top scorer Allan Okello headlines the travelling squad alongside new recruits Kevin Dasylva Bady, Enock Ssebaggala and Mark Yallah.

New signing Usama Arafat Kizza is not part of the team that departs to South Africa this evening. Kenneth Kimera is also not part of the team to Cape Town.

The aggregate winner will face either of Zambia’s Power Dynamos or Ivory Coast’s ASEC Mimosas in the second preliminary round.

Vipers SC will be aiming to emulate the 2022/23 team that reach the group stages of the competition when they eliminated TP Mazembe in the final preliminary round.
