Wakiso Giants are set to appoint Baker Mbowa as their new head coach ahead of the 2025/26 FUFA Big League season.

Swift Sports understands that Mbowa is expected to be deputized by former Kampala Queens coach Hamza Lutalo.

Mbowa coached Express FC and Mbale Heroes in the first and second round of the previous season respectively.

He is set to replace Steven Bengo who was relieved of his duties following the club’s relegation from the UPL.

Mbowa has also previously coached at Proline, KCCA FC and Soltilo Bright Stars among others.

The Purple Sharks are expected to embark on a new beginning following a massive exodus of players at the end of the previous season.

Wakiso Giants will be aiming for an instant promotion to the topflight league having spent five seasons before succumbing to relegation.
