Former Ghana international Laryea Kingston to handle Uganda’s Junior National teams

FUFA has today appointed former Ghana international Laryea Kingston as the new head coach of all Junior national football teams.

Kingston was unveiled by FUFA Chief Executive Officer, Edgar Watson at Kadiba Stadium on Wednesday and will take charge of the Boys’ Under-15, Under-17 and Under-20 sides.

FUFA also revealed that Brian Ssenyondo will continue to lead the Under-17 team at the forthcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar, marking his final assignment with the side before Kingston takes over on full time basis.

Kingston is a younger brother to Richard Kingson who was Ghana’s goalkeeper at the 2006 and 2010 World Cup tournaments.

Kingston is a UEFA A and CAF B coaching license holder and has previously worked with Ghana’s Under-17 team.

Just like his elder brother, Kingston featured for the Black Stars between 2002 and 2010, notably being part of the squad that defeated Uganda Cranes in Accra in September 2005.

He also played with former Uganda Cranes winger David Obua at Hearts in Scotland.He featured for Terek Grozny in Russia, Hapoel Tel Aviv in Israel, and Dutch side Vitesse as well.
