The Futsal Association Uganda (FAU) has introduced three new competitions and unveiled its 2025/26 Futsal Competitions Calendar.
According to FAU, a record 324 games across seven major competitions that will run from October 2025 to June 2026.
The new season will kick off on October 24, 2025 and will be highlighted by the introduction of three new tournaments the Futsal Women Super League, Futsal Frenzy Women Championship, and Girls Uganda Cup.
These additions underscore FAU’s growing commitment to inclusivity and grassroots development, particularly for women and youth players.
According to FAU CEO Ibrahim Mugera, the introduction of the women’s game is part of a long-term strategic vision to align Uganda’s futsal development with international opportunities.
“The introduction of the women’s game is a strategic move that also targets the Youth Olympic Games in Dakar in 2026,” Mugera explained. “We want to ensure Uganda is not only competitive locally but also represented on the continental and global stage.”
He further emphasized FAU’s broader mission of creating equal and sustainable opportunities across all futsal categories.
“This season’s calendar represents a major leap in inclusivity and competition structure. We’re proud to expand opportunities for women and young players, ensuring futsal continues to grow in all directions,” Mugera stated.
Full 2025/26 Futsal Season Breakdown
*Futsal Super League (FSL) – 11 matchdays, 66 games
*Futsal Women Super League (FSLW) – New, 11 matchdays, 66 games
*Futsal Frenzy Championship (FFC) – 11 matchdays, 66 games
*Futsal Frenzy Women Championship (FFCW) – New, 11 matchdays, 66 games
*Boys Uganda Cup (UGC_B) – 4 matchdays, 40 games
*Girls Uganda Cup (UGC_G) – New, 4 matchdays, 40 games
*Futsal Uganda Cup (Men & Women) – 5 matchdays, 28 games combined
The calendar will cover 63 competitive matchdays, culminating in the Futsal Super Cup in June 2026.
