Police FC returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Maroons FC on Wednesday at Kira Road Police Arena.
It was a perfect reaction for the Cops who lost to SC Villa in their previous league outing last week and had also drawn against NEC FC.
Maroons finished the game with ten men, following a second bookable offence for Norman Odipio.
Congolese forward Bedia Djuma Ikamba netted a brace for the home side to take his tally to four in five games. He is currently the leading top scorer in the league so far this campaign.
Rogers Kiwanuka found a consolation for Maroons FC in the first period.
Ikamba fired the home side into the lead in the 17th minute when he headed home a Denis Kalanzi free kick delivery.
Two minutes to half-time breather, Ikamba doubled Police’s advantage after goalkeeper Hassan Matovu failed to deal with Richard Matovu long ball.
Kiwanuka pulled one back for Maroons FC just before the break and his goal couldn’t stage a comeback for the visitors who suffered defeat.
Police who claimed their second win of the season are now fourth on the table with eight points same as second and third placed BUL FC and KCCA FC respectively.
Maroons on the other hand remain ninth on the table with four points they have garnered so far this term.
