BUL end Vipers’ long unbeaten home run

BUL FC ended Vipers SC’s 31 match unbeaten run in the league at Kitende with a 3-2 win on Friday.

Victory saw the Jinja based side extend their lead at the top of the Uganda Premier league to five points.

Nicholas Mwere, Lawrence Tezikya and second half substitute Ibrahim Mugulusi scored for Abbey Kikomeko coached side.

The win saw BUL FC record their first away win over Vipers since 2016.

Yunus Sentamu and Salem Ekbad struck for the Venoms.

Vipers had last lost a league game at Kitende on November 27th, 2021.

Mwere gave BUL FC the lead in the 7th minute to send the few traveling fans into delight.

Tezikya a former Vipers SC player doubled BUL’s lead at the stroke of halftime.

Sentamu cut the deficit in the 51st minute before second half substitute Mugulusi restored BUL FC’s two goal lead.

The hosts found a second goal through Ekbad’s header in the 81st.

Bright Anukani came close to levelling matters for the home side deep in stoppage time but could only force BUL FC custodian Thomas Ikrah into a save off a free kick.

Vipers will next face Alex Isabirye’s Express FC on 30th December at Wankulukuku while BUL FC host Busoga United on 28th December at Njeru.
