The global footballing planet will once again turn its gaze to the Gulf as Qatar prepares to host the FIFA U-17 World Cup that will be played from November 3rd to 27th, 2025.
Uganda Cubs will for the first time in history represent the nation at a global football event following the historic qualification earlier this year.
The Brian Ssenyondo coached side is among the ten African representatives at the showpiece.
Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, Morocco, Senegal, South Africa, Tunisia, Egypt and Zambia are the other African nations at the event.
Uganda recently played three friendly matches in Dubai against Venezuela (1-1), Panama (lost 2-1) and Paraguay (lost 3-2) is in Group K along with South African side Chile, France and Canada.
The Cubs will kick off their campaign against Canada on Wednesday November, 5th 2025 before tussling it out with Chile on Saturday 8th of the same month.
Uganda will then battle with France on Tuesday, 11th November 2025.
The top two nations in each group automatically qualify for the knockout rounds, while the eight best third-place teams will also proceed further.
The expanded tournament the largest in the history of the U-17 World Cup will feature 48 teams for the first time and will be held from 3 to 27 November 2025 in Qatar.
Two matches will kick start the tournament on Monday, 3rd November with South Africa Vs Bolivia and Costa Rica Vs the United Arab Emirates.
It should be noted that all matches until the final will be played across the eight pitches at the Aspire Zone Complex in Al Rayyan.
