KCCA FC will make a trip to Kamwenge to take on Mbarara City in the Uganda Premier League contest on Friday at Rwamwanja Stadium.
KCCA who have had a brilliant start to the 2025/26 campaign will be aiming for revenge over the Ankole Lions who were rewarded three points due to Gavin Kizito Mugweri card saga last season.
KCCA had initially won 2-0 away to Mbarara City in their previous visit before FUFA nullified the results following the Ankole Lions’ petition that the Kasasiro Boys had played Kizito who had to serve a one match suspension due to card accumulation.
FUFA rewarded Mbarara City three points and KCCA went to Court for Arbitration of Sport but later withdrew the case.
Victory for the Kasasiro Boys today will see them reclaim top spot currently occupied by SC Villa.
They are currently second on the table with 14 points while Mbarara City are second from the bottom with five points.
Mbarara City who have had a poor start to the season have not lost to KCCA at home in seven matches.
Co-coach Brian Ssenyondo is back from the historic U17 FIFA World Cup along with the duo of Brain Jjara and Steven Oyirwoth who have also been in Qatar and traveled with the team to Kamwenge.
Herbert Achayi and Shafik Nana Kwikiriza returned to training following their international team engagements.
Mbarara City are currently managed by Zaid Byekwaso who replaced Simon Peter Mugerwa at the helm.
In the previous 15 games, KCCA FC have won six and Mbarara three, with six ending in stalemates.
