Uganda Premier league side Lugazi FC has sacked the entire coaching staff due to a poor string of results.
Co-coaches Francis Mugerwa and Steven Bogere have been relieved of their duties in a decision confirmed on Monday morning.
“Lugazi FC wishes to announce that Francis Mugerwa and Steven Bogere have been relieved of their duties as Co – Head Coaches of the senior team with immediate effect for coming short of the club’s expectations.”
They leave along with assistant coach Gerald Efiti, goalkeeping coach Kizza Adam, statistician Alex Mugabi, and team doctor Jude Ssempijja.
“On behalf of everyone at Lugazi FC, the club would like to thank Mugerwa, Bogere, and their staff for all their efforts during their time with the club.” Read the statement
The club also confirmed that a new head coach will be named before the league resumption.
Lugazi is currently in 14th position with just 10 points they have garnered so far this term.
