Four time Uganda Premier League champions URA FC have appointed Hussein Mbalangu as their new head coach.

Swift Sports Uganda understands that the revenue collectors have handed Mbalangu a six month employment contract.

According to reliable sources the URA hierarchy will assess Mbalangu’s performances after six months to determine whether to reward him a longer deal.

He replaces Alex Isabirye Musongola who part ways with the four time league champions earlier this month.

Sam Ssimbwa was the other coach on URA FC whilst for the vacant coaching role.

Mbalangu who left NEC in November this year helped them to a second place finish in the Uganda Premier League last season.

The CAF A Licensed coach joined NEC FC in 2023 as a replacement for Michael Skills Lukyamuzi who had guided the club to a promotion to the topflight from the Big League.

He also guided the Die Hards to a Stanbic Uganda Cup final in 2024 where they lost to the eventual winners Kitara FC.

Mbalangu has previously coached Blacks Power, Mbarara City, Arua Hill SC, Azam FC Bweyogerere and also had a stint in Somali.
