NEC FC have completed the signing of offensive midfielder Pius Obuya on a three year contract.
Obuya has been unattached since parting ways with Serbian second tier side FK Radnicki Sremska Mitrovica at the start of the ongoing season.
Obuya returns to the Uganda Premier League after spending five seasons in the Serbian second tier with Kabel Novi Sad and FK Radnicki Sremska Mitrovica.
The former Uganda Cubs and Hippos creative midfielder last featured for Maroons FC in 2021.
He comes in to fill the void left by Titus Ssematimba who recently joined Nairobi United in the Kenya Premier League.
Obuya is the umpteenth signing of NEC FC in the mid-season transfer window following the Express FC trio of Richard Basangwa, Hakim Wandera and Muhammad Ssenoga Kagawa.
The Kaddu Badru coached side has also signed goalkeeper Juma Mutebi from Lugazi FC and Tony Atukunda from SC Villa.
NEC FC will be striving for a better finish in the second round after finishing the first half of the season in the 7th place with 20 points.
