Former Express and SC Villa defender Shafik Bakaki has been named in the Rwanda Premier League Team of the Season.
Bakaki played an integral part as Musanze FC to a third place finish in the previous season behind Rayon Sports and the eventual champions APR FC.
Bakaki moved to Musanze FC in January last year from Gaddafi FC and subsequently became an instrumental figure at the club.
He emerged as the only Musanze player named in the best team of the season which also automatically elevates him to the club’s best performer.
Mukura Victory Sports goalkeeper Nicholas Ssebwato was another outstanding Ugandan performer but missed out on the nomination.
Congo Brazzaville experienced shot stopper Pavelh Ndzila who plays for champions APR FC, was eventually considered as the best goalkeeper ahead of Ssebwato.
The 2024/25 Rwanda Premier League season will officially kick off on Thursday 15th August.
