SC Volcanoes delivered a commanding and clinical performance at Mashaka Playground after dismantling Asante Sports Club 4-0 in a dominant display that reaffirmed their status at the top of the Western Region league.

Prolific striker Rukyamuzi Julius netted all four goals ruthlessly as Asante’s Coach Hassan Nzafaro attributed the defeat over multiple Injuries inside his camp.(Sc volcanoes today win Mark’s 8 goals shot Asante sports club in one seoson).

The Asante side travelled with only eleven players and no substitutes and
SC Volcanoes (Mutolere SC) punished them with a 4-0 victory in a one-sided home encounter at Mashaka Playground.

Asante head coach Hasan attributed the heavy defeat to multiple injuries within his squad. They arrived at the venue at 3:00pm, while SC Volcanoes reached the pitch earlier at 2:30pm.

The match kicked off at 4:14 p.m., following the referee’s opening whistle.
In the opening five minutes, Ndahura initiated attacking momentum, combining effectively with Derrick (shirt number 6), supported by short passing sequences from Henry (shirt number 17) and Alijuna (shirt number 5). The fluid build-up created an early opportunity, although Henry’s header went off target.

Asante responded with attacking intent, as Allan (shirt number 7) linked up with Sekayi (shirt number 10), creating dangerous situations that resulted in two consecutive corner kicks within the first 14 minutes, both of which failed to yield a goal.

SC Volcanoes maintained their attacking pressure, and in the 29th minute, Henry connected with Ndahura to set up Rukyamuzi Julius, who capitalized on an open chance to give the hosts a 1-0 lead. The forward doubled the advantage in the 35th minute, finishing off another attacking move to send SC Volcanoes into the halftime break with a 2-0 lead.

In the second half, Asante Sports Club intensified their efforts in search of a comeback. However, SC Volcanoes’ defensive organization, marshalled by Alijuna (shirt number 5), ensured stability at the back while facilitating transitions through Mandela Alex (shirt number 12). Asante’s attacking combination involving Bbosa (shirt number 9) and Oward (shirt number 8) was effectively contained by defenders Derrick (shirt number 6) and Baffana.
In the 72nd minute, SC Volcanoes made tactical substitutions, introducing Menya (shirt number 13) for Mandela Alex and Ogwang (shirt number 16) for Muheirwe (shirt number 11).

The changes added control to the game, although Asante continued to press forward despite lacking substitutes, forcing goalkeeper Sekandi into a crucial save.

SC Volcanoes were awarded a penalty in the 76th minute after Magende was fouled inside the penalty area. Rukyamuzi Julius stepped up to take the spot kick, but his effort was saved by Asante’s goalkeeper.

Further substitutions followed in the 82nd minute, with Niringiyimana (shirt number 23) replacing Henry, strengthening the defensive setup. In the 84th minute, Faruku came on for Agaba, and moments later, Rukyamuzi Julius struck again to extend the lead to 3-0.

Despite trailing, Asante continued to push forward, but in stoppage time (90+3), Rukyamuzi Julius completed his remarkable performance by scoring his fourth goal, sealing a comprehensive 4-0 victory before the final whistle.
The result sees SC Volcanoes maintain their position at the top of the Western Region league table with 33 points and a goal difference of +27 from 11 matches, remaining unbeaten.

Asante FC, meanwhile, sit in 7th position with 11 points and a goal difference of -11 after the same number of games.

The SC Volcanoes’s win over Asante Mark’s eight goals in one season, which SC Volcanoes has marshalled Mbarara’s side.

In first leg on 25th October 2025 Sc volcanoes also ignited a stunning win of 4-0 in away game against Asante sports club at Kyakyeka stadium in mbarara city.

Speaking after the match, SC Volcanoes’ top scorer Rukyamuzi Julius expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance, praising the management and coaching staff for their commitment to the team’s success. He also emphasized the team’s ambition to compete at a higher level in the FUFA Big League. The striker has now taken his tally to 16 goals across all competitions.

This marks the second occasion this season that Rukyamuzi Julius has scored four goals in a single match, having previously achieved the feat on 15th February in a 6-0 victory over Gorilla Highlands Sports Club.
Asante Sports Club head coach Hassan Nzafaro acknowledged the defeat but remained optimistic about improvement. He revealed that injuries sustained during their previous 3-0 win over Mbarara FC left five players unavailable, forcing the team to travel to Kisoro with only eleven players and no substitutes.

He also raised concerns regarding player licensing, suggesting that some opponents may not be properly registered.
In response, SC Volcanoes head coach Patrick Ochan dismissed the allegations, affirming that all his players are duly registered and eligible to compete.

He commended the club’s management, led by president Dr. Martin Mbonye and vice president Flight Captain Arthur Mugisha Rucakatsi (Bubu), for their continued support and leadership, as well as the fans for their unwavering backing Ochan reiterated the team’s focus on achieving promotion and competing at a higher level in Ugandan football.
