Wakiso Giants edge Iganga to keep survival hopes alive

Former UPL side Wakiso Giants FC registered a crucial 2-1 victory over Iganga United FC at Hamz Stadium Nakivubo and boosted their hopes for survival.

First-half goals from Davis Ssekitto Kakande and Musa Matovu were enough to give Wakiso Giants FC all the three points.

Abdullah Mwima pulled one back for the visitors in the second half.

Both Wakiso Giants FC and Iganga United FC are not so safe from the drop zone after being on two points above 13th placed CATDA.

Upon victory, Wakiso Giants now occupy the 11 position with 26 points while Iganga United FC is a position below The Purple Sharks with 25 points from 22 games played by both sides.

Wakiso Giants will make a long trip to face off with promotion hopefuls Blacks Power FC next Sunday at Ebenezer University play grounds.

Iganga United’s next opponent will be Kiyinda Boys F C at Iganga Saza grounds.
