YMCA Comprehensive have secured a slot in this year’s Pepsi University Football League final after a shootout win over two time competition winners Kampala University at Buwambo on Tuesday.
After a goalless draw after two legs the winner was to be decided via penalties with the Buwambo based institute surging to their dream final.
YMCA prevailed 6-5 on penalties with Amos Makela falling to strike from 12 yards for Kampala University who will now play in the bronze medal match.
Trevor Makubuya netted the decisive penalty for the home side will now contest for the trophy awaiting the winner in the other semifinal between St. Lawrence University and Muteesa 1 Royal University.
Slau and Muteesa 1 Royal University played out to a barren stalemate in the first leg meeting last week and will face off in the second leg on Thursday at Kavule.
Slau have never won the competition and have reached the final three times while Muteesa 1 Royal University are bidding for their first ever finale.
