SC Villa fans are excited to see which new signings the club will make in the forthcoming transfer window, but several players are set to depart the record Ugandan league champions.

This website has established that Reagan Mpande is among the big names who go through the exit door when the season comes to a climax.

Several sources have told this Swift Sports that there is a general fear that Mpande has had enough and will look to leave with a few months left to his contract.

Unlike in his debut season at Villa where he had enough playing time, he has this term found it hard to find himself among the starters in Zeljko Kovacevic’s starting eleven.

Mpande had a brilliant 2024 CHAN campaign that hosted on home soil, helping Uganda Cranes reach the quarterfinals for the first time in history. In fact he scored Uganda’s first goal at the 2024 CHAN in the commanding 3-0 win over Guinea.

He also made the squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations that was in Morocco as Uganda failed to go past the group stage.

He joined the Jogoos at during the 2023/24 season from former Uganda Premier League side Arua Hill SC. In that same season, he won the league title with Villa ending the club’s 20-year title drought.

SC Villa is currently fourth on the Uganda Premier League table with 51 points and will next host BUL FC on Friday at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku. The Jogoos are also big favorites to reach the Stanbic Uganda Cup final following their 2-0 win over URA FC in the first leg of their semifinal.
