The 2026 Buganda Kingdom organised Masaza Cup tournament will officially kick off next month at the home of defending champions Buweekula.
Ahead of the tournament, teams have intensified preparations of the prestigious event by confirming coaches for their teams.
Reigning champions Buweekula will be under the stewardship of co-coaches Andrew Ssali and Ibrahim Kyobe.
Felix Ssekabuuza who led them to their maiden Masaza Cup title last year returned to record competition champions Gomba.
Gomba failed to advance past the group stage last term and are aiming for a record extending sixth Masaza Cup crown.
Ssingo appointed Emmy Kisakye who will work with Michael Bukenya in the search for a third Masaza triumph. Ssingo were losing finalists in 2025 under Bastu Ssemuyaba. They are previous winners in 2015 and 2018.
Three time winners Buddu retained Eric Kisuze as their head coach for the 2026 tournament. They had a horrible 2025 campaign when their journey ended at the group stage. Buddu are winners in 2016, 2021 and 2024.
Bulemeezi winners in 2012, 2019 and 2023 will be managed by Leo Ssekamatte with Frank Mutalaga serving as the team patron.
Butambala are under the stewardship of Eddy Ssenkaali while Isma Ndawula will be in charge of Buvuma.
Hussein Kato returns to Busujju after short stint with Mawokota during the knockout stage of last year’s event.
Mawogola will be guided by Andrew Mugagga while Kasasira Brian Junior is the man to steer Kabula. Fred Kasekende will handle Kkooki.
Ssese who had an incredible campaign in 2025 reaching the quarterfinals will again be managed by Edrisa Walusimbi.
Mawokota aiming for their fourth triumph and the first since Farouk Miya stunned Ssingo at Nakivubo in 2013 will be coached by Richard Malinga.
2008 champions Kyaddondo appointed Bright Nyanzi as their head coach for the 2026 edition whereas Michael Skills Lukyamuzi will stay at Bugerere.
Kyaggwe seeking for their maiden Masaza Cup glory named Ronald Ssali formerly at Bulemeezi and Buweekula as their head coach. Last Simon Peter Mugerwa was in charge of the team as they reached the semifinal stage.
