On Sunday, Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC officially confirmed the departure of Belgian tactician Ivan Jacky Minnaert.

The Belgian joined the Venoms at the start of the just concluded season on a one year employment.

Minnaert led Vipers to their eighth league title and had their Stanbic Uganda Cup journey end at the semifinal stage by eventual winners Kitara FC.

In total, Minnaert managed 39 games across all competitions, winning 25, drawing 13 and only lost once on the pitch during his spell at Kitende.

He joined Vipers SC last year in July from Liberian Premier League outfit Fassell Football Club, which he guided to the league title in the 2024/25 season.

He also worked with Libyan top-flight outfit Al-ttihad Tripoli, helping them to the title in the 2020/21 campaign.

The Belgian also managed at Union Estepona CF and CD San Roque in Spain, Malian side Djoliba AC, Kenya’s AFC Leopards and Rwanda Premier League side Rayon Sport FC across two separate spells.

He also had stints in Guinea Conakry at AS Kaloum Star, at Rwanda’s Mukura Victory FC and at South African side Black Leopards FC.
