SC Villa forward Charles Lwanga will not extend his stay at the club following expiration of his contract, Swift Sports Understands.
Lwanga and SC Villa have for weeks held talks over contract extension but both parties failed to reach a compromise with the player opting to leave.
Lwanga returned to Villa at the start of the 2023/24 season and in that same season he won the league title scoring in the game against NEC that handed ended the Jogoos 20-year title drought.
Despite having limited playing time in the 2025/26 season, Lwanga was Villa’s third highest scorer in the league with six goals only behind Frank Ssebuufu (9) and Najib Yiga(7) scoring more than him.
Lwanga has previously featured for KCCA and returned to SC Villa at the start of the 2023/24 season and helped the side end its 20-year title drought in that particular season. In fact he scored against NEC FC, a game that handed the Jogoos their 17th league title on the final day.
In 2024/25 season, he was SC Villa’s top scorer in the league with 11 goals while the club’s starman Patrick Jonah Kakande managed eight goals for the club.
SC Villa have already part ways with Elvis Ngonde who joined KCCA FC while Hassan Mubiru is on his way to Tanzania’s Azam FC.
