SC Villa assistant captain Diego Misi Ssemugera has agreed terms with Stanbic Uganda Cup champions Kitara FC, Swift Sports Understands.

Ssemugera is currently a free agent following expiration of his employment contract at SC Villa at the end of last season.

Kitara want to boost their midfielder ahead of a busy 2026/27 schedule that will include continental football due to their involvement in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Ssemugera joined Villa at the start of the 2023/24 season from Police FC on a three year employment contract which expired last month.

During his time at the record league champions, Ssemugera helped the club end a 20-year title drought in his first season.

Ssemugera is a former player of Lugazi Municipal, Lugazi Friends FC and Mayinde Spartans.

Villa has already part ways with Hassan Mubiru who is on his way to Azam FC and Elvis Ngonde currently at KCCA FC.
