Vipers SC have confirmed the departure of goalkeeper Bashir Ssekagya following the expiry of his contract with the club.

Ssekagya returned to Vipers in 2024 as a free agent from Wakiso Giants.

On his return to the club, Ssekagya has found playing time hard to come his way as he was behind Alfred Mudekereza and Derrick Kiggundu in the club’s goalkeeping pecking order.

“Thank you and farewell Bashir Ssekagya, we wish you all the best on your future endeavors.” Vipers have tweeted.

The lanky shot stopper had his first stint at the club between 2018-2021 and thereafter joined Kenya’s Wazito FC.

He broke to the Uganda Premier League scene in the second half of the 2017/18 season while playing for UPDF FC and subsequently garnered interest from the Venoms.

Vipers have also confirmed the departure of right back Grant Matsiko who joined Entebbe UPPC FC as earlier reported.

Taddeo Lwanga is the other player whose departure has been confirmed following his move to Kenya’s AFC Leopards.
