Vipers are in the process of overhaul. Denis Lavagne will be keen to reshape his squad following his appointment as the club’s new head coach. The next few months promise to be hectic at Kitende as the Venoms seek to strengthen their squad.
Ahead of their busy schedule for 2026/27 season, the Venoms have already secured signatures of four new players in Joel Sserunjogi, Nicholas Mwere, Jacques Mangoba and Loyce Marius Mbaba.
However, additional signings will be required as seven players have already departed the eight time Uganda Premier League champions.
The departures are defenders Nicholas Wadada, Livingstone Mulondo, Grant Mastiko, goalkeepers Bashir Ssekagya and Alfred Mudekereza, midfielders Frank Katongole and Taddeo Lwanga.
Mudekereza, Wadada, Mulondo, Mastiko and Ssekagya had their employment contracts expire at the Kitende based side while Katongole leaves the club in search for regular football.
Mastiko has already found solace at Entebbe UPPC while Lwanga has agreed terms with Kenya’s AFC Leopards.
Meanwhile Vipers have rewarded left back Derrick Ndahiro a new two year employment contract and will fight for a starting slot with new recruit Nicholas Mwere and Enock Luyima.
