Lugazi FC have confirmed the signing of versatile defender Louis Anguti Amagu on a four year deal.
Anguti re-joins Lugazi from regional league side Malaba Youth Development Association (MYDA) where he spent the closing half of last season.
“I feel very good to come back home. I was born in Lugazi, my mother and father are living in this area.” Anguti says.
” I also honed my skills from this great club after joining it way back when it was still in the Buganda regional league. I had some exciting moments as we played through the regional league, FUFA Big League, until we were promoted to the UPL. And I feel I will have another successful tenure here.” He adds.
Anguti left Lugazi in 2024 to join Tanzania Premier League side Coastal Union FC.
He is remembered for scoring the all important goal that inspired Lugazi to a historic qualification to the Big League in a 1-0 playoffs victory over Kajjansi United at Kavumba in 2022.
His arrival gives coach Abbey Bogere Kikomeko depth and options in defense as he can ably play as a center back, right back but also as a defensive midfielder.
He notably captained the national U18 team to victory in the CECAFA U18 Championship that was held in Kenya in 2023.
Anguti was also part of the KCCA FC U20 Team that won the Cambiasso and Rainbow Cup in 2022 in Tanzania.
He also played for Standard High Zzana and also won the FEASSSA Games with Buddo Secondary School in 2022.
