The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has offered a second chance to clubs that missed the registration deadline for the FIFA World Cup 2026 Club Benefits Programme.
In a circular dated 2nd November 2026 to all football stakeholders, FUFA Chief Executive Officer Edgar Watson Suubi confirmed that clubs which released players for the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers are entitled to an anticipated benefit of USD 2,362 per player, per match.
The payment is made to each club with which the player was registered at the date of the match, as per FIFA Circulars No. 1965 (5 June 2026) and No. 1972 (9 September 2026) on the Club Benefits Programme.
FUFA says it has received enquiries from clubs that missed the registration deadline and wishes to assure them they still have an opportunity to participate.
“Each club may review the list compiled from FIFA’s records and submit to FUFA any eligible player you may have omitted,” Suubi said in the circular.
The process is now at the FIFA Member Association Review stage at FUFA level, which closes on 13th November 2026. FUFA has reviewed all 230 players who featured in Uganda’s 10 World Cup Qualifier matches, and each club’s list is attached for review.
To qualify, a player must have been in the starting XI or among the substitutes for the match, and registered with the club on that date.
If any club is certain that its player featured in any of the WCQ matches but does not appear on the list, or observes any other inaccuracy, the club must inform FUFA in writing immediately, and no later than 8th November 2026, and provide proof of the player’s participation in the match that the player was registered with the club at that time.
“Strict compliance with this deadline is required and will be enforced,” Suubi warned.
According to FUFA all written responses and clarifications should be addressed to Mr. Lukambi Denis, who was appointed by FIFA as coordinator of the process.
