KIRINYA JSS 3-0 UPDF: The students sail to an emphatic victory to go 4th

Kirinya Jinja SS Fc had a comfortable 3-0 victory over UPDF at Bugembe Stadium. The result saw the Jinja outfit move to fourth place on the Azam Uganda Premier league log.

The first half was not entertaining one with both sides failing to create better scoring chances though the hosts were the dominant side in terms of possession. The first 45 minutes ended in a barren stalemate.

Enter the second half, Joel Madondo broke the visitors resilience giving the home side the lead in the 48th minute.
The goal came as a result of poor clearance from UPDF defender Joseph Otieno.

When his side was chasing the game UPDF tactician Steven Bogere reacted by making a double change as he introduced on Dongo Mustafa and Robert Nakyenalire in places of Kisambira Julius and Lubega Titus respectively.

Despite the changes from the visitors the home side continued to press for the second. In the 69th minute, Musa Esenu doubled the lead off a long ball from Godfrey Akol. The talisman finished off brilliantly lopping an helpless UPDF goalkeeper Bashir Sekagya.

In the 75th minute Bashir Mutanda came on for Anthony Mayanja, 6 minutes later he was on the score sheet. The play maker connected well with Fred Amaku to make it 3-0 for the hosts.

With the clock ticking Kirinya was forced into a change with Godfrey Akol paving way George Kasonko. The visitors made the final change as Lukwata Abdul came on for Senyonga Sydney.

The game ended 3-0 in favour of Kirinya. UPDF pair of Owinyi Ronald and Isa Mubiru were the only players who were cautioned and non for the home side.

The win takes the Jinja outfit Kirinya in 4th place with 32 points while UPDF are 13th on the log with 20 points and only one point separates them from the drop zone.

Kirinya will next face an onerous task when they visit Maroons at Luzira grounds on 14th March while UPDF welcome Onduparaka at Bombo barracks grounds on the same date.
