URA FC have completed the signing of defender Faizo Matovu from new league entrants Lugazi FC, Swift Sports understands.
Matovu has been serving as Lugazi’s team captain and played a pivotal role in ensuring promotion to the Uganda Premier League last season.
Matovu also played an instrumental role as Ngabi Nsamba won the Bika Byabaganda Football Championship this year.
He is expected to be a cornerstone of URA FC’s fresh start that has seen a couple of players depart with a relative an equal number coming in.
URA FC have signed defender Joseph Bright Vuni from UPDF FC as well as Abraham Kakensa Tusubira from Maroons FC.
Najib Fesali, Viane Ssekajugo, Eric Ssenjobe, Ibrahim Juma Dada and Simon Baligeya have already left the club officially.
