80 caddies participate in Kabaka Coronation anniversary Golf championship

Eighty Caddies took part in the 31st edition of the Kabaka Coronation Anniversary Golf championship that was held at Uganda Golf Club Kitante on Monday 22nd-July.

Among the 80 caddies who took part 12 were ladies.

Bruce Gomushabe emerged the overall winner in the men’s category while Robinah Angom was the overall winner in the ladies category.

Angom appreciated Buganda Kingdom for giving them an opportunity in one of the many yet to come Golf tournaments,

“Practice makes perfect my victory is not by mistake I am always Practising, I appreciate the Kingdom for organising this tournament and giving us an opportunity to take part, we pray it continues in the coming years.”

Gomushabe was greatful for his victory and also appreciated the Kindgom for the opportunity, he promised to win big come Thursday 25th and Friday 26th,

“Rain was a blessing in disguise despite not playing so well I managed to win, I thank Buganda Kingdom for the opportunity, I am hopeful I will also win the Cross Amateurs tournament.”

Eng Sam Mubiru Lugonvu the captain Buganda Golfers Association appreciated the sponsors who came on board,

“Our sponsors and partners thank you for the support rendered we are hopeful more are still coming on board.”

“I am happy that this tournament is the first game within the Kingdom to be played after the return of the Kabaka this is just the beginning many will keep coming going forward.”

Chief Guest Owek.Robert Serwanga Ssalongo the Buganda Kingdom Minister for Youth, Sports and Art appreciated the job the Caddies render to the game,

“We thank God who led the Kabaka back home to you the Caddies thank you for the services you render to the game I advise you to do your job with a lot of love and passion you never know some of you will once day become professionals.”

“All Golfers are called upon to come and take part.”

Winners were given cash prizes

The Gross players tournament will be played on Thursday 25th and Friday 26th before the climax on Saturday 27th-July.
