Italian Women Serie A club FC Como is set to complete the signing of Crested Cranes forward Violah Nambi.
Nambi is currently unattached after her one year contract with another Italian club Pomigliano CF expired at the end of last season.
Nambi joined Pomigliano CF at the start of last season and went on to score on her debut in a 3-2 defeat to Juventus.
Nambi has played seven times for the Crested Cranes and was part of the squad that represented Uganda at the 2022 Women’s AFCON in Morocco in 2022.
She scored a brace on her Crested Cranes debut as Uganda thumped Zambia 5-0 in a friendly game played in Marrakech, Morocco.
The former St. Mary’s Kitende forward has previously played for Vaxjo DFF and Kalmar FF in the Swedish topflight league (Damallsvenskan) and also Dorbin Ladies in Austria.
As a player, Nambi is a quick and versatile forward who primarily operates as a right winger but can ably play as a striker.
FC Como Women is affiliated to Como FC, the men’s side that is now coached by former Arsenal, Barcelona and Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas.
