The qualification campaign of the AFCON 2025 climaxed on Tuesday, 19th November with several games played.
After six round of the qualification phase, the 24 teams that will take part in Morocco’s showpiece have been confirmed.
Tanzania needed Simon Msuva second half goal to beat Guinea to a slot in next year’s event.
Msuva sent the home fans into delight in the 61st minute to dash Guinea’s hopes in Group H.
The victory sealed Tanzania’s spot in their second consecutive AFCON and fourth overall appearance in the continental tournament.
Botswana also booked a ticket to Morocco after finishing second to Egypt in Group C.
The two sides played out to a 1-1 stalemate in Cairo with Omaatla Kebatho scoring for Botswana before Trezeguet levelled for Egypt who finished unbeaten in the qualifiers.
Botswana also secure their first AFCON qualification since 2012.
Mozambique beat Guinea Bussau 2-1 to progress to the final tournament.
The result ensured that Mozambique finished second in Group I, joining group winners Mali in next year’s tournament due in Morocco.
The tournament in Morocco is scheduled for December 21st, 2025 to January 18th 2026.
