The 2025 AFCON U-17 qualifiers (CECAFA Zone) climaxed on Friday, 27th December with the final match between Uganda Cubs and Tanzania played at Hamz Stadium in Nakivubo.
Uganda Cubs needed a comeback win to overcome Tanzania 2-1 to clinch the title.
In the third place playoff, former champions Somalia beat South Sudan 4-2 in a penalty shootout after a 2-2 draw in normal time.
Following the climax, the organisers also rewarded the outstanding individual performers.
Uganda Cubs midfielder Abubakali Walusimbi was named as the Most Valuable Player for his astonishing performances during the tournament.
His teammate James Bogere finished as the top scorer with seven goals including the winner in the final.

Tanzania goalkeeper Abrahman Nassoro clinched the best goalkeeper accolade while his nation took the fair play trophy.
