Uganda Cranes goalkeeper Mathias Kigonya is a transfer target of three foreign based clubs, Swift Sports understands.

Tanzania’s Ihefu SC together with Zambian clubs NAPSA Stars and Forest Rangers are all interested in signing Kigonya.

Kigonya is a free agent since January this year after leaving Kenyan side Sofapaka FC on mutual consent.

Ihefu have been interested in his services since the start of last season while the Zambian clubs will be hoping to lure him back to the Zambian Premier League.

It should be noted, Kigonya previously played for Forest Rangers and played an instrumental role as they qualified for the CAF Champions League in 2021.

He is a former Soltilo Bright Stars and Soana FC player who also previously featured for Azam FC in Tanzania.

He was part of the Cranes squad that represented Uganda in the 2016 CHAN tournament in Rwanda and also won the 2015 CECAFA Championship in Ethiopia.
