Uganda will be vying to keep their world cup dream alive when the face Mozambique in Cairo tomorrow.
The Cranes are 5th in G that is led by Algeria with 9 points, Mozambique second on 9 followed by Botswana, Guinea and Uganda on 6 points. Somalia sit on the basement without a point after 4 matches.
Belgian tactician Paul Put still has faith in his team and asked them to keep focus on theor game if they are to stand a chance of making it through.
“The key is to focus on our game rather than stressing over numbers”
Put told CAFonline.com
“Every game is crucial. You do not get many chances to qualify for a World Cup in your career. I have been close before and when you are close, you want more. Uganda must push forward and stay focused”,
He added .
Paul Put further stressed the toughness of Africa’s qualification avenue since there are no easy teams.
“You cannot underestimate any African team. In World Cup qualifiers, opportunities are scarce, so we must be well-prepared. Our players understand that these chances are rare in their careers. I do not like to overthink. We performed well away in the AFCON qualifiers, and we should maintain that level. At home, we need to make a difference.”
Uganda will play against Mozambique tomorrow in Cairo and on 25th will host Guinea at Mandela National Stadium.
