FUFA Big League side Soltilo Bright Stars have signed former Uganda Cranes defender Savio Kabugo, Swift Sports understands.

Kabugo has been a free agent after parting ways with Gaddafi FC (now known as Entebbe UPPC FC) a side he guided to a topflight promotion at the end of the previous season.

Kabugo is expected to add experience in the Soltilo Bright Stars’ rebuilding process that saw the biggest part of the squad depart at the end of the previous season.

Soltilo Bright Stars succumbed to relegation last season to end their 12 year stay in the Uganda Premier League.

Kabugo has previously played for SC Villa, URA FC, Victoria University, KCCA FC, Proline FC and Lugazi FC among others.

He has also had stints abroad with AS Vita Club in DR Congo, Sebeta Kenema in Ethiopia and Jwaneng Galaxy in Botswana.

The FUFA Big League is expected to kick off on Sunday 28th September with four teams expected to earn promotion to the UPL at the end of the season.
