Ethiopian duo leaves Kampala Queens as new season kicks off

The Ethiopian pair of Tone Turist Lema and Amedu Meadin Salihu has left Kampala Queens following a brief stint.

The duo joined the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League champions from Ethiopia’s Hawassa City and featured in the Women’s Champions League Qualifiers held in Kenya last year.

Consequently, Meadin Salihu has joined Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) who are the reigning champions of Ethiopia.

Lema and Salihu were not part of the squad list released by Kampala Queens on Thursday ahead of their league opener against Kawempe Muslim.

Kampala Queens signed Sharon Kaidu, Jolly Kobusinge, Catherine Wujja, Joanita Ainembabazi, Square Mwaise, Precious Phiri, Tukamushabe Daphine, and Amangat Marion.

Crested Cranes Goalkeeper Daisy Nakaziro has also left the club ahead of an anticipated move to Eastern Europe.
