BIG LEAGUE: Bashir Mutanda scores hat trick as Wakiso Giants get second win of the season

Striker Bashir Mutanda scored a hat trick to inspire Wakiso Giants to a 4-1 win over Mbale Heroes at the Mbale City Stadium on Sunday.

Mutanda formerly at SC Villa and Vipers, recently joined the Purple Sharks from Uganda Premier League side Maroons FC.

His former Villa and Vipers teammate Pius Wangi scored the other goal to complete the rout for the Purple Sharks.

Mbale Heroes who were also relegated from the UPL, like Wakiso Giants, got an goal through striker Akiram Muzanyi which later turned into a consolation.

The comprehensive victory was Wakiso’s second win of the season having previously beaten Kiyinda Boys 2-0 in Kiwenda.

The former UPL side has now gathered seven points from four games played while Mbale Heroes have managed four points from as many games.
