The race for promotion to the FUFA Big League is gathering momentum, with Kagadi United FC and Mutolere SC (SC Volcanoes) emerging as frontrunners in the Kitara and Western Regional Leagues respectively.
The two sides are enjoying unbeaten campaigns and attention is now turning towards a potential playoff showdown that could determine who takes a decisive step into Uganda’s second-tier football competition as second round gears up.
In Kitara Regional League,
Kagadi United FC currently leads the standings with 28 points and +11 goals from 12 matches, maintaining an unbeaten record of eight wins and four draws. However, the title race remains tightly contested with Mabira TC sitting just three points behind with 25 points and +13 goals while Booma FC follows with 23 points and +13 goals Blue Stars FC and Karuguza FC leveling on 18 points with blue stars having +8 goals whereas Karuguza Fc also having +7 goals making the top five Kitara league tight and keeping pressure on the top positions.
According to the now available Kitara regional league fixtures ,Both Kagadi and Mabira are having two fixtures in hand with the table leaders Kagadi United fc fixtures includes.
1.Kagadi United fc vs Lake Katwe salt city on 28th march Kahunde P.G.
2.Mabira TC vs Kagadi United fc on 5th April.
On the western side, Mutolere Sc (SC Volcanoes) Dominate Western League having contrasted authority in the League, sitting top with a perfect record of 30 points from 10 matches and a commanding +23 goal difference.
Their closest challengers, Six O’clock FC, trail by seven points with 23, while the rest of the teams in top five including Rwampara Bulls FC with 14 points and +6 goal, Mbarara FC, and Rwenshama FC, remain significantly on the same 12 points tie with Mbarara fc having 0 goal while Rwenshama counting adebt of 3 goals.
According to the Western regional league fixtures, Sc Volcanoes have eight matches remaining, with three rescheduled. These are,

2 Mbarara Fc vs Mutolere Sc on 11 April at Kakyeka P.G

Mutorele’s ( Volcanoes) dominance has not only placed them at the summit but also positioned them as one of the most consistent teams across the regional leagues this season.
In addition, According to FUFA competition rules, winners from the regional leagues will face off in promotional playoffs to determine qualification for the FUFA Big League.
Specifically, the Kitara champions will meet the Western Region winner in a two-legged tie.
Importantly, the team with the higher overall points tally will earn the advantage of hosting the first leg at home, a factor that could prove crucial in such a high stakes contest.
At present, SC Volcanoes hold a slight edge over Kagadi United, leading by two points and boasting a superior goal difference of +13.
SC Volcanoes still have eight matches to navigate, including key fixtures against Six O’clock FC and a regional derby against Gorilla Highlands SC. The Kisoro-based side is expected to secure at least nine more points to strengthen their position for playoff advantage.
According to Uganda football authorities, Each season, four teams are promoted from the FUFA Regional Leagues to the FUFA Big League through playoffs involving champions from eight regions, including Kampala, Buganda, Western, Kitara, Eastern, North East, Northern, and West Nile.
With only four promotion slots available causing two regions from eight regions meeting each other in home and away play offs to decide who to promote.
As the second round of the regional leagues progresses, both Kagadi United FC and SC Volcanoes remain firmly on course as both table leaders will battle to remain consistent to be promoted to a nother level in Uganda football.
