Kansai Plascon Uganda successfully concluded the second edition of the Plascon Painters Tournament on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the Nakivubo War Memorial Grounds, marking another significant milestone in its ongoing commitment to empowering painters across the country.

The highly anticipated final brought together Kabale Painters and Masindi Painters in a competitive and spirited match that ended in a 1-1 draw during regular time. Kabale Painters ultimately emerged victorious after a tense penalty shootout, securing the championship title for the 2025/2026 season.

The tournament, which originated from the company’s Painter SACCO initiatives, continued to grow in scale and impact, expanding from 16 teams in its inaugural 2024 edition to 32 teams in the just-concluded season. Featuring nationwide participation and a total of 31 matches, the tournament demonstrated increasing engagement within the painter community and reinforced Kansai Plascon’s role in industry development.

Throughout the season, Kansai Plascon achieved key milestones, including the launch of 16 Painter SACCO offices, among them an all-women painters office, supporting financial inclusion and providing access to essential equipment. The tournament also featured FUFA-certified referees, enhancing professionalism and credibility, while fostering collaboration with local authorities across participating regions.

Beyond competition, the initiative delivered strong community and industry impact by promoting unity, teamwork, and knowledge sharing among painters. It also created opportunities for increased visibility and potential employment, while strengthening connections with municipal leaders.

Speaking at the finals, Kansai Plascon Head of Sales, Moses Kato, emphasized the broader significance of the initiative:

“The Plascon Painters Tournament has grown into more than just a sporting event—it is a platform for empowerment, connection, and professional growth. We are proud to see painters from across Uganda come together, demonstrate discipline, and build relationships that extend beyond the pitch. This initiative reflects our commitment to supporting the painter community not only through products, but through meaningful engagement and opportunity creation.”

The tournament also reinforced positive behavioral values, recording all 31 matches without major incidents, highlighting discipline and professionalism among participants. Off the field, digital engagement remained strong, with active communication through WhatsApp groups sustaining interaction and collaboration beyond match days.

The finals also featured recognition of outstanding individual performances, including awards for Top Scorer, Most Valuable Player, Best Goalkeeper, as well as team awards for the winner and first runner-up.

Through initiatives like the Plascon Painters Tournament, Kansai Plascon continues to strengthen its positioning as a community-driven brand dedicated to empowering industry stakeholders and fostering sustainable growth across Uganda.
