Hussein Mbalangu’s future at Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club (URA FC) hangs in the balance as the 2025/26 season edges closer to the climax.

URA FC drew 1-1 with relegation fighting Calvary on Tuesday, a result that saw them remain winless in now seven games.

With two league games left and a Stanbic Uganda Cup semifinal return leg against SC Villa, the top management at URA is yet to decide on Mbalangu’s future as head coach.

Mbalangu joined the tax men in December last year on a six month contract following the departure of Alex Isabirye Musongola.

However, uncertainty remains over whether Mbalangu will continue in the role beyond the current campaign.

This website has established that the URA hierarchy is in no rush to extend Mbalangu’s reign.

The club will listen to other possible candidates before making a final decision, such is the rigour that tax collectors will apply to their most important appointment.

But while they might have sounded out other options, there have still been no formal meetings as yet. Again, the plan is to wait until the end of the season.

URA FC are currently 11th place and have already secured Uganda Premier League status for next season. They also have a big task of overturning 2-0 semifinal first leg defeat against SC Villa in the Stanbic Uganda Cup when the two sides meet this Saturday at FUFA Kadiba Stadium.
