Kampala Boxers intensify Training ahead of Inter-City Fight showdown in Gulu

The anticipated Boxing event dubbed the Inter City Fight Night is just days away with Kampala based boxers battling with those from Gulu City.

The fight night in Gulu is slated for 31st July, 2026. Gulu City Youth Organization Limited in partnership with Friends of Boxing are the organisers of the battle between the two city fighters.

Bomah Hotel in Gulu will be the venue where a total of 12 bouts will take place.

Kampala boxers have for weeks been sharpening their skills for the long-awaited fight night. On Tuesday, they had their training session at Panamera Pitch Naguru.

Magumba Ivan, has urged stakeholders to come and attend the event in Gulu and believes his opponent will face a sharper examination of his skills against the Pole.

“I feel proud to fight in Gulu and call upon every stakeholder to be part of this experience, away from Kampala. I’m very happy, that I’m going strong in Gulu, and I still feel like the best is yet to come. I am very optimistic that the people in Gulu will witness the very best.”Magumba stated.

Ali Ashinda Faisal, the event match maker expects a great showdown in Gulu

“We have very many experienced boxers and i believe they will give the boxing fans in Gulu the very best. They fans should expect a great showdown from both sets of fighters.” Stated Ashinda

Friends of Boxing head of marketing, Frank Lulindwa also called upon the fans to come at Bomah Hotel and have a wonderful boxing experience.

“We have been in Gulu and witnessed the team training with different coaches. They are in camp and ready to put up great fights. We decided to have fights of this magnitude to give the boxing fans across the country a feel of a boxing event. We also want to give an opportunity to the boxers in the other cities and also get exposed. These inter-city fights will also help us get new talented boxers.” I call upon the fans to come in huge numbers and support these boxers in Gulu as well develop talent as well.” Said Lulindwa.
