KCCA acquires 30% stake in Kampala Queens, Club to be rebranded as KCCA Women FC

KCCA FC has formally acquired a 30% stake in Kampala Queens FC in a landmark deal that is set to reshape women’s football in Uganda.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the Lugogo-based club confirmed the acquisition is for an initial period of one year, with a gradual acquisition of more stake expected over the coming years.
Under the renewed agreement, Kampala Queens will be officially rebranded as KCCA Women FC (KCCA WFC). The squad will adopt KCCA FC’s full brand identity, including official club colours and visual elements.
The two teams KCCA FC and KCCA WFC (formerly Kampala Queens FC) will now operate as the official men’s and women’s football teams under the KCCA Football Club brand.
While fully integrated under the KCCA FC banner, the women’s team will retain its iconic nickname, The Kampala Queens, which has become synonymous with the club and its successful journey over the years.
KCCA FC says it will invest its structural, commercial and technical resources in KCCA Women FC as part of a shared ambition to build a stronger football institution.

The move makes KCCA the latest Uganda Premier League side to officially own a women’s team, joining rivals Vipers SC and BUL FC, and is seen as a major boost for the FUFA Women Super League.
Kampala Queens are two-time FUFA Women Super League champions and one of the most dominant sides in the country. The partnership with one of Uganda’s biggest brands is expected to elevate their commercial appeal and technical setup ahead of the new season.
