David GOMBE

KCCA FC has issued an official statement following the abandonment of their Uganda Premier League match against UPDF FC at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

The match was interrupted and subsequently abandoned on Wednesday evening after a failure of the stadium floodlights.

In the statement, the club said:

“KCCA FC regrets the interruption and subsequent abandonment of our match against UPDF FC at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, following a failure of the stadium floodlights.”

The Kasasiro Boys apologised to all parties affected by the incident.

“We sincerely apologise to our fans, supporters, UPDF FC, and everyone who turned up for the match for the inconvenience and disappointment caused by this incident.”

The club added that they are treating the matter with the seriousness it deserves and will work with relevant stakeholders to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

KCCA FC confirmed they are now awaiting further communication from the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) regarding the match and any subsequent decisions.

The club concluded by thanking fans and stakeholders for their patience and understanding, with further updates to be communicated through their official channels.
